Amok***

This is an upscale restaurant, which is more like a sidewalk cafe, as it is located on the "Pub Alley" or "Passage" where many people walk around. Because of this, there are plenty of vendors and beggars, so it would be wise to sit one or two rows inside the eating area.

As far as food is concerned, they serve only Khmer dishes that are very similar in taste and in price to those you get at the Bopha Angkor restaurant in the sense that a strong influence of the French cooking is felt because of the use of milk and cheese, for example. So most Europeans would consider the food here more elegant. We believe that the price of over $6.00 for most Khmer dishes is slightly too high considering that most other similar Khmer restaurants in the neighborhood have much cheaper fare. If you are interested in pure Khmer dishes, you may consider trying the Traditional Khmer Food restaurant right across the Alley as the dishes are so much more reasonable and seem more authentic.
